NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - One person was killed in a shooting in the Leonidas neighborhood Wednesday night (July 10), according to New Orleans Police.

NOPD spokesman Aaron Looney reported the shooting just after 10 p.m., which he said happened in the 1200 block of Eagle Street, where a male victim was pronounced dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

The shooting marked the third in New Orleans since 5 p.m. Wednesday, when a man was shot multiple times while driving on I-10. Roughly three hours later, two people were shot in New Orleans East. Both victims were brought to separate hospitals in private vehicles.

The condition of the other three shooting victims was not known Wednesday night.

No additional information was immediately available.
