Coast Guard rescues boaters off coast of Gulfport

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An air crew from the Coast Guard Air Station in New Orleans rescued a couple of boaters who were stranded about 20 miles southwest of Gulfport, Miss.

They made the rescue as Tropical Storm Barry approached the Gulf Coast on Friday (July 12).

A crew was able to lift the boaters from their grounded vessel to safety.

The Coast Guard warns that response times will be limited as the storm gets closer.
