NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide in the Milan neighborhood early Saturday morning.
According to investigators, police were called to the 2200 block of Amelia Street just before 2 a.m. for a vehicle that crashed into a utility pole. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso inside of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are working to determine a suspect and a motive in the shooting.
NOPD has not released the name of the victim. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and an official cause of death following the completion of an autopsy and family notification.
