NOFD extinguishes early morning boathouse fire near West End

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) An early morning fire destroyed a boathouse. according to the NOFD.

Firefighters battled the 2-alarm blaze near the West End Marina around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

The fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the two story boat house and spread to the second floor.

No one was home at the time of the fire. The attached apartments on both sides, 30 South Roadway and 32 South Roadway sustained smoke and water damage.

No one was home at the time of the fire in either apartment. Two boats also sustained light smoke and water damage.
