2 arrested, 3 warrants issued in connection to Christmas Eve homicide in Chalmette
CHALMETTE, La. (WVUE) - St. Bernard officers arrested 18-year-old Dijon Weatherspoon and 17-year-old Quinn Bryant, both of Chalmette, in connection to a fatal shooting of a New Orleans man on Christmas Eve in Chalmette, according to a report.
Weatherspoon and Bryant were booked with one count of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Gregory Alexander, of New Orleans. They were also booked with two counts of attempted first-degree murder after shooting at two bystanders as well.
Warrants also have been issued for 25-year-old Myron Morris, 17-year-old Davin “Draco” Williams and a 16-year-old male. All from New Orleans.
Police responded to the shooting report at around 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve in the 400 block of Pierre Street in Chalmette.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Alexander with two gunshot wounds in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others were also injured in the shooting and were transported to a local hospital.
The victim and suspects were allegedly involved in a drug transaction before an altercation began, according to the report.
