Barefootin’ singer Robert Parker passes away

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - New Orleans singer Robert Parker has passed away, according to family members.

According to his nephew, he died Sunday from natural causes at his home in Roseland. He was 89-years-old.

Parker who was born in New Orleans was known for his 1966 song “Barefootin’”.

He also performed along side many other New Orleans musicians such as Fats Domino and Irma Thomas.

Parker was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
