NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - The Southland Conference Board of Directors announced Thursday it has determined that league competition in football will be postponed from the fall semester.
Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State will now wait to see if there will be football in the spring.
Tulane will no longer play Southeastern Louisiana in their opener, Sept. 3. Tulane head coach Willie Fritz said the team is actively looking for a replacement on their schedule.
Individual schools in the conference may compete in limited fall competition. Football teams can still schedule non-conference games if they choose so.
