City of New Orleans lifts parking restrictions due to street flooding

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The City of New Orleans has lifted parking restrictions across the city as street begin to flood due to heavy rains.

Officials announced that vehicles can now park on the neutral ground but they remind residents that they can not block intersections or park on the streetcar tracks and bike paths.

Several overpasses have begun closing due to the flooding.

Heavy rains moved through the New Orleans metro area Wednesday afternoon bringing heavy rains and flooding on some streets.
