NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A warm and muggy Thanksgiving holiday is ahead. There will also be overnight and early morning fog into Saturday. For Thanksgiving Day itself a few spotty showers will be possible midday and into the afternoon hours. Otherwise look for it to be rather muggy with plenty of clouds.
Several disturbances will track across the region on Friday and Saturday along with a stalled front. This will mean periods of passing rain and possibly a thunderstorm. There will be some dry breaks for some people and others may stay more wet at times.
A very strong low will develop over Southeast Louisiana on Sunday and bring widespread rain and storms. Some storms could be severe with heavy rain.
Behind the storms winter will rush into the region with sharply colder weather next week. The first freeze of the season is likely by Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for the North Shore and well west of the lake.
