NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The winter chill will linger for the next week or so. Friday will still have clouds around with some clearing. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s. Lots of sun for Saturday but still cool. Clouds move back in for Sunday ahead of a strong winter storm developing over Texas.
The much advertised winter storm will bring a Gulf low across the Louisiana Coast on Monday. Widespread rain and a few storms are possible especially near the coast. There could be some moderate to heavy rain.
The coldest air stays north of us so the best chance for snow is along Interstate 20 in Louisiana and Mississippi. It’s not out of the questions that could be some flurries near the Mississippi state line. Stay tuned! These winter systems are very sensitive to the track and there could be some changes.
