METAIRIE, La. (WAFB) - The Saints’ most senior defensive player, Malcolm Jenkins, has been a big part of the Black and Gold resurgence when it comes to turnovers in 2020.

New Orleans ranks at the top of the league with 18 interceptions, tied with three other teams. It could mean bad news for the Bears. They rank No. 4 in the NFL when it comes to throwing interceptions.

Jenkins is one of three Saints with three picks this season but he said they should have had even more.

“That’s one of our goals is to turn the ball over as many times as we can,” said Jenkins. “That just means taking advantage of the opportunities that come. I think if you ask anybody in our room, we felt like we dropped way too many this year, and that’s been a point of emphasis. That’s part talent and part scheme.”

Meanwhile, the fans of both the Bears and Saints might be focusing on the fact that Drew Brees could be playing his last game Sunday if Chicago were to pull the upset in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. The game can be watched on WAFB.

The game will also air on Nickelodeon and Saints head coach Sean Payton has agreed to get “slimed” if they beat the Bears.
