NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The reports are out there, this will be Drew Brees’s last playoff run of his career. Well, this postseason is off to a slow start for the 20-year NFL veteran.

His only touchdown pass of the first half was enough to give New Orleans a halftime lead, 7-3, but it’s way too close for comfort in the Dome.

The Saints found the end zone first in the contest. Brees connected with Michael Thomas for an 11-yard touchdown. Thomas missed the last three games after being on the injured reserve, but came back with vengeance on this day.

The Bears only points of the first half came off a Cairo Santos 36-yard field goal. The Chicago defense forced a Taysom Hill fumble to setup the field goal.

If the Saints win this matchup, they’ll host the Tampa Bay Bucs next weekend.
