NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Sunny skies returned today as temperatures will warm a bit into the middle to upper 50s. If you are dressed for it it will be a beautiful day. Sunny skies and even warmer temperatures are expected Thursday as highs hit the mid 60s. This will be short lived as a Friday morning front drops highs back into the 50s. . This front could bring some spotty rain Thursday night/early Friday morning, but it should be offshore by sunrise Friday.
Otherwise, it will be dry through the holiday weekend. We’ll enjoy lots of sun and cool January conditions with highs in the 50s through Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Several light freezes are likely away from the Lake, but no freezes are forecast for the East Bank over the next week or so.
