Zack: Unsettled weather pattern brings plenty of rain chances

Thursday will be the last “quiet” day of weather as rain holds off until tonight.

Thursday Morning Weather Authority Forecast

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A very unsettled weather pattern is about to take hold as in our current 7-day forecast, six of those days have a chance for rain.

Today is actually one of the quieter days in weather as most of the rain looks to hold off until this evening going into tonight. We are watching for some areas of patchy dense fog this morning but the bigger story over the next few days will be the rain. Expect some cloudy periods through this afternoon with maybe a random shower possible north of the lake. It will be quite warm today as highs jump into the middle 70s.

Tonight the rain moves in and that will set the stage for a wet end to the week. Friday will bring off and on rain showers and cooler temperatures. Highs will dip a good 10 degrees from the middle 70s today to the lower 60s on Friday. It gets even cooler by Saturday as we may struggle to get out of the 50s but unfortunately, I do have to keep rain chances in the forecast to start the weekend.

By Sunday going into next week we will quickly return to the 70s and the unsettled weather will remain. Sunday looks dry but the early half of next week looks to once again bring more rain chances.
