NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Mardi Gras parades are canceled but the celebration will “roll” on. Many people have turned their homes into floats.

In New Orleans, what started as a social media joke quickly blossomed into the real Krewe of House Floats.

Julie Simons Clements (@NolaJules68) has taken the time to capture some of the elaborate designs.

In Mobile, where some claim the earliest Mardi Gras celebrations were held, the Mobile Porch Parade starts on Feb. 1.
