NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Pelicans four-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday night in Denver, but back in New Orleans Zion Williamson created some buzz with his return to the city.
The Pelicans maintain Zion is out indefinitely with a foot injury. So why is Williamson back if he isn’t ready to play?
FOX 8 Sports contributor Jeff Duncan weighed in on the Overtime Podcast.
“Well it’s obviously good news to have him back in the city. He’s been out in Portland for months. I think it’s important for him long-term to be back here with the organization. I think he was a little ostracized across the country. I think being back here, we know he’s progressing with his foot injury. Get Zion with the team, and start feeling the energy and the culture,” said Duncan
On the Saints side of things, Jameis Winston continues his rehab from his ACL injury. Right now, the quarterback is a free agent. Is there a shot he’s back in the Black and Gold for 2022?
“I think it’s a 50-50 call right now. I think he would like to come back here. It’s a very good situation. I think him returning to New Orleans is going to largely depend on what the market is for Jameis Winston. I don’t think it’s a done deal he comes back here,” said Duncan.
