NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Nick Caldwell’s 21 points helped SE Louisiana defeat New Orleans 80-64 on Saturday night.

Caldwell, the former Dutchtown High star, also had eight rebounds for the Lions (13-9, 7-2 Southland Conference). Alec Woodard added 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Boogie Anderson finished with 12 points.

Over two games in the series with UNO, Caldwell has averaged 24.5 ppg and 8 rebounds.

Jordan Johnson led the Privateers (6-14, 3-6) in scoring, finishing with 26 points and four assists. Tyson Jackson added 12 points and two steals for New Orleans.

The Lions are currently atop the Southland Conference standings and are on a 3-game win streak. They will look to complete a series sweep over Incarnate Word on Thursday (Feb.) at home in SLU’s University Center in Hammond at 7:30 p.m.

This Saturday (Feb. 4) the Lions host Texas A&M-Corpus-Christi at 11 a.m. for the program’s first-ever nationally televised regular season home game on ESPN.
