Amanda Kitch is a southern Louisiana native. She originally grew up in Lakeview, but she relocated to the Northshore after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Amanda’s interest in the television industry stemmed from her many years on and behind the theatrical stage. Through theatre, she learned how to tell entertaining stories and to connect with the audience. Now, she uses her writing and technical skills to tell stories through media.
Amanda became a member of the WAFB team shortly before she graduated in May 2019. During her time at school, she traveled around the country to journalism convections and scholarship and award banquets. She also anchored, reported, and produced for her university’s television station, The Southeastern Channel, before interning with WVUE Fox8.
Social media, craft beer, and her fluffy puppy, Indie, are some of her favorite things to enjoy in her time off.
Amanda currently reports and produces for the LouisianaWeekend.com. She thinks eating food, sipping cocktails, and checking out local events on camera is not a bad gig!
She loves meeting new people and sharing conversation, so don’t be afraid to say “hello” and let her know where to find the best restaurants in town.
