Perry Robinson was born in Jackson, Mississippi and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2016.

During his time at USM, Perry won several awards for his on-campus reporting of the Golden Eagles athletic program and for his contributions to the weekly syndicated radio show he co-hosted called ‘Wise Guys’. He also interned at WAPT-TV back in Jackson in 2014.

In 2016, he won three Associated Press Awards including Award of Excellence for Best Sports Story, Excellence in Journalism for Best Sportscast-Sports Program and First Place for College Radio Best Sportscast-Sports Program. He was also named the 2016 Broadcast Journalism Student of the Year.

After graduation, Perry took a job at WTOK-TV in Meridian, MS where he was a reporter and producer. In 2019, Perry left Meridian to become a reporter at KNOE-TV in Monroe, Louisiana.

During his time at KNOE, Perry received an Emmy Nomination from his reporting of the tornado that struck Ruston, Louisiana.

Perry is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is a Spring 2014 initiate of the Kappa Iota Chapter.

Perry also has a passion for sports. He roots faithfully for his alma mater and is also a Jackson State University Tigers fan.

Perry is excited to join WAFB as a reporter and ready to call the Red Stick home.
