“What is it that’s going on, we’re getting to the point where kids are that interested in stealing usually pennies worth of stuff that they feel they also need to protect themselves with that kind of hardware and where the hell are they getting that kind of hardware quite frankly,” said Sainato.
Tyrone Davis Jr., 27, was arrested around 10:45 a.m. and was charged with one count of obscenity, a felony, Layrisson said. Davis also had previous warrants for 15 counts of failure to appear in city court, police say.

The New Orleans Police Department says around 7 p.m. Thursday a man inside a residence heard banging on the door in the 500-block of Dauphine Street, got a gun, and opened the door. Police say the victim entered the residence, and then lunged toward the man inside. That’s when police say the man inside of the residence shot him.
A Hammond woman that was originally the victim of a residential burglary has been arrested by Tangipahoa Parish deputies for committing armed robbery against the suspect accused of breaking into her home, said Chief Jimmy Travis.
Public Information Officer Claire LeBlanc said that Johnson, 18, of Folsom, is scheduled for arraignment on June 17. The charges come from District Attorney Scott Perrilloux’s office received an investigation report from the SLU campus police.
At around 1:23 a.m., NOPD Sixth District officers were called to 2100 block of Clio Street for a call of aggravated battery by shooting. On the 1200 block of South Liberty Street, officers discovered a 17-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
