Chefs Move! scholarship deadline approaches

New Orleans, La. - The next great chef could be right here in New Orleans, looking for the chance to get started.

John Besh and Jessica Bride Mayor cooked up the Chefs Move! Scholarship.

The aim is to find local minority applicants with the talent and drive and offer them the opportunity to train in a world class setting.

Chefs Move! is offering two fully paid scholarships for minority recipients in the New Orleans area to attend school at The French Culinary Institute in New York City.

The scholarship includes tuition, uniforms, equipment, housing, travel to and from NYC.

It also includes a paid 8 week internship with the John Besh restaurant group upon graduation.

Chef Brian Landry of Borgne Restaurant and Kelly Fields of August will mentor the students as they begin putting what they've learned into practice.

The deadline for applications is April 30.
