Errol George ineligible for District B council seat

New Orleans, La. - Mayor Mitch Landrieu says he cannot appoint Errol George to serve as District B's interim council member.

This comes more than a month after council member Stacy Head named George as her choice to fill the seat she left vacant after winning an at-large spot..

In a letter to the council dated Monday, Landrieu says George does not meet the legal requirements because he has not been living in district B for two years.

George's legally recognized domicile is in district E.
