While many are familiar with Louisiana's so-called voucher system which allows parents of some students to pay for private education with public dollars. Now, the Louisiana Department of Education is working to get the word out about the state's new Course Choice program.

The system is the first of its kind in the nation.

It enables students to access public money to pay for individual courses to reach their personal goals.

Families may use Course Choice to pay for career and technical education, higher education classes, virtual classes and even apprenticeships.

The program benefits both high achieving students and those who need remedial help.

The Louisiana Department of Education is hosting two webinars to spread the word about the program.

The first will be held Wednesday, June 27 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
