Hammond, La. - Tangipahoa Parish Deputies made another arrest in their investigation of a string of car burglaries in the Hammond area.

Deputies say they tied James Keys to the case and moved in to make an arrest when they learned he was about to leave the state.

Baton Rouge police helped out by picking up Keys at the Greyhound Bus station in Baton Rouge where he told officers he was about to get on a bus headed for Indiana.

Officers initially detained Keys on a pair of outstanding warrants. But he is now facing up to 74 counts of burglary.

Detectives say they were able to recover some of the property reported stolen from vehicles as a result of their investigation.
