Washington, D.C. - Louisiana scores a 6 out of 10 on a measure of the state's readiness for a wide range of emergencies.
The annual "Ready or Not?" report provides a snapshot of our nation's public health emergency preparedness.
The people behind the report think Louisiana needs to do a better job maintaining or increasing funding for public health programs. They also think the state needs a complete climate change adaptation plan.
35 states and Washington D.C. scored 6 or lower.
The Trust for America's Health puts together the "Ready or Not?" report with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
