Baton Rouge, La. - A state audit released overnight blasts the Recovery School District for not keeping track of school property well for the sixth straight year.

The report shows the RSD lost track of $2.7 million worth of property over the past four years.

The RSD estimates 70 percent of that property is not lost, rather improperly coded.

The audit also shows over $74,000 in property, mostly computer related items, were either missing or stolen during 2012.

The audit also notes that the RSD failed to accurately record the separation dates of terminated employees.

This could have led to salary overpayments.
