Growing trend in fitness might pose some serious dangers

Chances are you've heard of "crossfit". It's a high intensity fitness routine that is part gymnastics and part body building.

But a combination of inexperience and extreme conditions can lead to a very dangerous condition known as rhabdomyolysis or "rhabdo".

It typically happens when muscle is broken down and the bi-product of muscle fibers is released into the bloodstream, clogging and poisoning the kidneys.

Experts suggest drinking lots of water and starting off the routine with less intensity to avoid "rhabdo."

Before you start a crossfit routine, experts suggest you consult with your physician.
