Braithwaite, La. - Emergency managers in Plaquemines Parish say the chemical Methyl Acrylate was released from the Stolthaven plant Friday morning.
They say this was a minor spill and everything is under control.
The Dept. of Environmental Quality says its office has received reports of an odor in the area. DEQ crews and Louisiana State Police are on the way to the scene.
The cause of the release is not known. There has been no report of any injuries and no evacuations have been ordered.
