Slidell, La. - Slidell Police were called to Javery Road Saturday, after a body was found in a ditch. Investigators identified the victim as 23-year-old Leighton Powe Jr.
Police say around the same time his body was discovered, Powe's girlfriend called police to report him missing.
As the investigation continued, police determined that Powe had been shot in the city limits of Slidell and then later dumped along Javery Road.
Investigators named 20-year-old Felix Adams Jr. as a suspect in the case. Police tell FOX 8, that a tipster called to give them a description of the car Adams was driving. That vehicle was later spotted by investigators, and Adams was arrested.
Friends of the victim say Powe was a great person who didn't deserve to die.
"He would do anything for you," says John Roberts. "It's unreal. I mean, you would never expect this to happen to him. It's ridiculous."
Adams is booked with first-degree murder. Slidell Police say this is a complicated case, and more arrests will follow.
