Police respond to shootings in NOE, Algiers, Gentilly Thursday

NEW ORLEANS - Police were called to shootings in New Orleans East, Algiers and Gentilly Thursday.
NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson III said officers responded at about 6:45 p.m. to the 7800 block of Sand Street, where a 17-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the back. He was listed in stable condition at the hospital.
Robertson said police also received a call from a local hospital saying that they were treating a 20-year-old man for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the back. According to the victim, the shooting occurred in the 2000 block of Pace Street in Algiers, Robertson said.
Then at about 10 p.m., a 17-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh in the 6300 block of Music Street. He was listed in stable condition.
