Police investigate fatal shooting in Hollygrove

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Police were investigating the fatal shooting Friday of a 26-year-old man.

The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. in the 8700 block of Pritchard Place.

The victim has been identified as Anthony Simon.

Investigators said Simon was in the block when a gray vehicle approached and someone inside the car opened fire. He was struck multiple times and ran into a grassy field near the intersection of Monroe Street and Pritchard Place, where he collapsed and died.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a motive.
