15-year-old dead, 7 others shot at Gentilly graduation party

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A 15-year-old boy is dead and seven other people wounded after gunfire broke out at a Gentilly house party.

Police responded to a call saying several people were shot Friday at 11:20 p.m. in the 6300 block of Eads Street. When police arrived they found 15-year-old boy, three men and four women shot. The 15-year-old, who died at the hospital, has been identified as Tremaine Robertson.

According to police, the victims were at a graduation party when an argument broke out and at least one person pulled out a gun and opened fire.

Four women from the ages of 19-to-30 were shot. One needed surgery while the others had non-life-threatening wounds. Three men, ages 22-to-25, were shot. All had non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating the incident to determine a motive and identify a suspect or suspects.
