NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Indy Car Series is coming to New Orleans in April with the Grand Prix of Louisiana. On Wednesday, some of the sport's best drivers were at Nola MotorSports Park to test the track. They all agreed New Orleans is a great spot.

"It's exciting to get back to New Orleans. You know, you are never really sure just to see how it is going to be received. Looking at other places that were similar, especially in the South, look at the race we have in Alabama - was fantastic," said Scott Dixon, 2013 IndyCar Series champion. "We really loved it, the crowd support was really good, so I hope, even talking to the people in the hotel last night, they know the race is coming and are pumped up for it. Hopefully, we can put on a good show and build on it and have a lot of people out here for years to come."

Charlie Kimball of Chip Ganassi Racing added, "Coming in 10 years after an event that was so big in the city's history, to be able to put on our show and show New Orleans and Louisiana what IndyCar racing is all about. Obviously the track, they put a lot into it. Its going to be a lot of fun; it's already a lot of fun to drive, and I cant wait to get back here in April."

The race is the first of its kind in New Orleans and it runs April 8-10.
