(WVUE) - About 32 percent of Louisiana's 4-year-olds are enrolled in preschool programs, which puts the state at 15th in the nation for early education enrollment.
Louisiana spends $90 million per year on preschool programs, the 16th highest in the U.S.
The data comes from a study by the National Institute for Early Education Research, which notes that Louisiana is implementing plans to increase the number of 4-year-olds in school, but raises questions about how well those efforts will be funded.
