Saints sign seven to practice squad, announce waiver claims
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - One day after trimming the roster down to 53, the New Orleans Saints have signed seven players to the practice squad and announced waiver moves.
The moves were announced, Sunday, by the Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.
Defensive end Obum Gwacham was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks and linebacker Michael Mauti, a Mandeville native and son of former Saints receiver Rich Mauti, was claimed off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings.
Loomis also announced that the Saints have terminated the contract of safety Kenny Phillips, waived defensive tackle Ashaad Mabry and reached an injury settlement and waived linebacker Ronald Powell.
The following players were signed to the Saints practice squad:

- G/T Sean Hickey
- WR Seantavius Jones
- G Cyril Lemon
- TE Chris Manhertz
- FB Toben Opurum
- CB Sammy Seamster
