NOPD: Person of interest sought in Garden District robbery

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for a man who is a person of interest in a robbery in the Garden District. The incident occurred Tuesday August 18, 2015 at 9:20 a.m. in the 1300 block of St. Charles Avenue.

Police say that the suspect walked into a Wendy's located within the block to buy a cup of coffee. As the cashier opened the register to give the suspect his change, the suspect reached into the drawer, grabbed some cash and fled from the restaurant on foot.

Detectives learned that an individual named Calvin Thomas, may have critical information pertaining to the case. Police say that Thomas is not listed as a suspect, but as someone who may have information about the robbery.
