Suspect named in Uptown Circle K robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are searching for the man accused of stealing cash and cigarettes from an Uptown convenience store.

NOPD obtained an arrest warrant for 33-year-old Calvin Thomas. According to police, Thomas robbed the Circle K store in the 6000 block of Magazine around 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31.

Thomas allegedly entered the store and walked into the restroom. Moments later, Thomas walked to the cashier and pulled out a pistol, demanding money. The cashier complied and Thomas made off with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes.

Police connected Thomas to the robbery through a CRIMESTOPPERS tip. Once apprehended, Thomas will be booked with Armed Robbery.

Police say Thomas also uses the alias "Calvin Deal."

Anyone with information on Thomas' location is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 504-822-1111.
