NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police search for a man who they say pulled a gun on a woman in Treme and demanded her purse.

It happened Thursday about 9:40 a.m. near the corner of North Villere Street and Ursulines Avenue.

The 66-year-old victim was walking in the area when police say a man approached her with a gun and demanded her purse. According to detectives, she hesitated handing her bag over, and that's when she says the gunman became angry, pushed her to the ground and took her purse.

Police released a computer-generated sketch of the man. He's described as a black male in his 20s, about 5'8" tall with a medium to muscular build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with blue sleeves, dark pants and armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.
