Man shot twice in N.O. East armed robbery attempt

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A 63-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot twice in the side during an armed robbery attempt, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Police say around 4:50 a.m., the victim was approached by a black male in a grey truck at the intersection of Morrison and Read Blvd.

The subject produced a weapon and demanded the victim's property. When the victim said he did not have anything, the subject shot the victim twice and fled.

The shooting happened near a bus stop used for students and public transit.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.
