LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A pregnant Lafourche Parish woman was arrested Tuesday for her third DWI offense, according to Sheriff Craig Webre.
Angelle Andras, 27, of Choctaw, was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux on charges including DWI, interfering with a law enforcement investigation, reckless operation and driving with a suspended license.
On Tuesday at around 4:25 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a vehicle crash in the 2600 block of Choctaw Road in Choctaw. Deputies learned that a man had crashed into a residential mailbox while trying to avoid a head-on crash with another vehicle that had veered into his lane. The driver of the other vehicle approached the man and identified herself, then left the scene, telling the man that she was pregnant and her water had just broken.
While deputies were investigating the crash, Andras returned to the scene. She admitted to leaving the scene and to drinking, but she refused to submit to a field sobriety test.
Deputies later conducted a breathalyzer test that showed Andras had a blood alcohol content of .08g percent. Deputies learned that her license was suspended and that she had two previous DWI charges.
Her bond has not been set.
