Deputies need help identifying armed robbery suspect

MARRERO, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish deputies hope the public can help them identify a man wanted for armed robbery.

Members of the robbery squad said the man went to the Chevron Gas Station on West Bank Expressway in Marrero late Monday evening armed with a knife. The man got money from the store's cash register and fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6'0" to 6'2" tall, approximately 280 pounds.  He was wearing a purple and gold hooded sweatshirt with "2013" on the back of the sweatshirt.

Anyone with information in this robbery, or who may know the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Robbery Section at (504) 364-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
