(WVUE) - More than 500 students from the New Orleans area were set to participate at this year's March for Life rally in Washington, D.C., but with a huge winter storm headed their way, the group was forced to turn around almost as soon as they got there.

The Archdiocese cut the trip short and sent all the students by bus to Charlotte, N.C., until the storm passes through.

The journey comes after a more than a 24-hour bus ride to D.C. on Wednesday.
