Montegut man arrested in Terrebonne drug sweep found dead in his home

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - A man recently arrested in a Terrebonne Parish drug sweep was found dead Thursday morning in a Montegut house.

Kurt Kenneth Turner, 51, was found Thursday morning in his home at 118 Susan Street in Montegut.

Paramedics arrived and attempted to revive Turner. Their attempt was unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at this scene.

Turner was found inside of his residence. Investigators found no obvious signs of injuries to his body. The cause of death is pending a toxicology report.

Turner was recently arrested during the Terrebonne Parish Narcotics Task Force drug round-up. He was charged with possession of Roxicodone, crystal meth, marijuana, distribution of legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from jail on Jan. 13, 2016 after posting bond.
