NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating a car accident in New Orleans East that left one man dead. The incident occurred Monday around 6 p.m. on Interstate 10 West near Crowder Boulevard.
Police say that the victim was driving a pickup truck west in the left lane of I-10. As the man approached Crowder Boulevard, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and crossed three lanes of traffic and the right shoulder of the road, prior to hitting the guard rail. After hitting the guard rail the truck turned onto its side and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
