FBI investigating CBD bank robbery

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - FBI agents were investigating a Monday afternoon bank robbery in the Central Business District.

The robbery happened at 2:53 p.m. at the First Bank and Trust in the 900 block of Poydras Street.

Police said the suspect entered the bank, gave the teller a note and implied he had a weapon. He is described as being a black male about 5'10" tall with a medium build and a light complexion. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a gray long-sleeved shirt and light-colored pants. He also had a tan backpack.

He fled on foot toward St. Charles Avenue.

The FBI is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call them at (504) 816-3000 or Crimestoppers at (5034) 822-1111. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
