Apple recalls international adapter kits due to shock hazard

(WVUE) - Apple issued a recall of some of its adapter kits and plugs for international travelers after some customers said they received an electrical shock while using the product.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said about 814,000 kits were sold at Apple stores, home electronics stores nationwide and through Apple.com.
The recalled items were sold for about $30 between January 2003 and January 2015.
The Apple World Travel Adapter Kits contain two-prong and three-prong AC wall adapters for use in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Korea, New Zealand and Continental Europe.
Apple received 12 reports of the adapters breaking and shocking users overseas.
