Washington Parish man arrested on child exploitation charge

WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A joint effort involving Attorney General Jeff Landry's Cyber Crime Unit (CCU) and  the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of a Washington Parish man on numerous charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.

William Secrist, 23, of Franklinton was arrested last week on one count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, three counts of Felony Carnal Knowledge, and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

On Feb. 17, investigators say they received information that Secrist was having an inappropriate relationship with a 16 year-old female, in violation of Louisiana law. After verifying the relationship, investigators obtained an arrest warrant. On February 18, Secrist was arrested by Attorney General Jeff Landry's CCU and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.

If anyone has information on other possible victims of Secrist, investigators request they call Attorney General Jeff Landry's Investigation Division at 225-326-6100. Callers do not have to give their names.
