JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish council accuses the White House of overlooking severe weather damage in Grand Isle.

The council approved a request Wednesday that Jefferson be included under a federal disaster declaration. Twenty-three parishes fall under the current declaration including, Washington, Tangipahoa and St. Tammany.

Grand Isle streets director Chris Hernandez sent FOX 8 pictures of what he says shows erosion brought on by bad weather that's resulted in flooding across the state.

Governor John Bel Edwards has already requested that the White House add Allen, Ascension, and Calcasieu parishes to the federal disaster declaration. He notes 900 homes in the three parishes flooded.
