Uber passenger robbed after driver takes him to wrong location
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man was robbed at gunpoint after his Uber driver dropped him off miles away from his destination, according to an initial New Orleans police report.
The 20-year-old victim caught a ride to the Riverwalk from the 300 block of Camp St. around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. However, the Uber driver took him across the river to Algiers instead, according to police.
The victim realized he was not at the Riverwalk so he got out of the vehicle. He was approached by the perpetrator who demanded his cellphone and credit card.
The perpetrator fled.
The victim caught a cab back to the 300 block of Camp St.
