NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police want to find a man who they say robbed a New Orleans East store.

It happened Monday morning at the Family Dollar store at 9711 Chef Menteur Highway. Surveillance cameras captured video of the man.

At about 9:20 a.m., Seventh District Officers responded to an armed robbery call at the location. During the investigation, police learned that the individual pictured below entered the store and implied to the cashier that he had a gun.

The cashier opened the cash register and gave the man the money. Police say the man left with the money from the register, as well as two bags of candy.
The man is described as a tall, thin black male in his fifties. He was last seen wearing black pants, a dark colored t-shirt and black zipper jacket with a camouflage hat.

If you know who he is or where police can find him, call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
